Odessa Anzio, Debra Monk, Dominic Burgess, and Zachary Quinton appear in recurring roles, in addition to series regulars Emma Roberts, Billie Lord, Denis O’Hare, and Leslie Grossman, as well as newcomers Matt Cauchy, Kim, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Michael é Rodriguez, Cara Delavigne, Julie White, and Maze Ali. The comedy series was developed by Ryan Murphy and Brad Nalchik for the cable network FX and is made by 20th Television. The first episode of the two-part season debuted on September 20, 2023.
Development of American horror story
American Horror Story received a 13th season extension on January 9, 2020. It will be the first season in the history of the show to not have Murphy as show runner and to heavily depend on source material, according to the actor and the series’ co-creator, who announced on April 10, 2023 that Halley Feiffer would serve as the season’s show runner and that it would be based on Danielle Valentine’s upcoming book Delicate Condition. Murphy disclosed the name of the season: Delicate.
Casting of American horror story
On April 6, 2023, The Resident alum Matt Cauchy joined the cast of the twelfth season. On April 10, 2023, Murphy disclosed that Kim and series veteran Emma Roberts would serve as the season’s leaders. Murphy called character “fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying” and said that the season was “ambitious and unlike anything [the series] has ever done.” After Murphy was impressed by performance as the host of an October 2021 episode of Saturday Night Live, Murphy began planning her inclusion in the series in 2022. Filming of American horror story

It was rumored that production had stopped on May 4, the third day of the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike in New York City. Deadline Hollywood claimed that filming for the twelfth season continued, despite the picket line, and that cast members were entering the studio through a back door. Production for the season was halted owing to the strike; it was reported on May 10, 2023. Due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, filming was formally put on hold in July.
Marketing of American horror story
The first teaser trailer for the season was made available on July 20. It shows it-haired ladies in a circle with motherhood imagery, starring Karajan carrying a baby; Karmas, Roberts, and Delavigne are the only actors to appear, and they are all wearing bright red lipstick. This is why it has been dubbed “sinister” by the media. A modified rendition of the English nursery rhyme “Rock-a-bye Baby” can be heard in the teaser. Kyle Denis of Billboard identified Rosemary’s Baby (1968) as a potential source of inspiration for the season after viewing the teaser. On September, a complete trailer was published.

The season will be split into two parts, with the first one debuting on September 20, 2023, based to an announcement made by FX on August 15.
